Churchville Lions - We Serve!
The Lions International theme this year, “A Beacon of Hope”, is to show the strength of the worldwide network and to shine our light even brighter and issued a challenge to local clubs. The Churchville Lions Club, took the challenge to heart by participating in all four campaigns:
“Engaging our Youth”
- held a summer picnic for families with blind & sight impaired children
- provide funds for a diabetic child to attend Summer Camp Possibilities
- funded eye & hearing corrections for a young car crash victim
- funded two Lions at the Lanes Days
- held an Easter Egg Hunt blind & sight impaired children
- purchased playground equipment for Churchville ES & is working on a future reading/ technology/ science room at the school.

“Sharing the Vision”
- purchased a Braille Machine for a local sight impaired child
- funded a Carson Scholarship
- provided eye exams & glasses for local residents in need
- assisted at the bi-annual eye glass sorting & recycling center for Lions District 22
- oversaw the Harford County Lions Project
- supported Churchville ES - purchased school supplies for students in need, purchased books for the library, & provided vision screenings
- performed vision screening for the children at the Highland School
- performed vision and hearing tests at Bel Air United Methodist Church.

“Relieving the Hunger”
- donated food to needy families with sight impaired children
- donated turkeys to local churches for distribution to the hungry
- hosted the annual Breakfast with Santa outing
